OnGuard Lone Safety

Worker Productivity

Worker productivity is crucial to gain a competitive advantage. Increasing the output per every dollar spent has become increasingly difficult. Workflows and efficiency of machines have been optimized to a maximum and additional cost savings are hard to achieve. Significant improvements, however, can still be made by improving the collaboration and information flow between workers. A good communication strategy is necessary to ensure urgent communication is clearly distinguished from non-urgent communication. This will also increase safety as workers know what type of medium will provide communication that they need to answer immediately. In addition, a good communication strategy enables the sharing and accessing of relevant information that provides further context when needed. OnGuard offers a broad portfolio of communication solutions that help reduce investment and increase productivity company-wide.

Situational Awareness

Being able to see where your co-workers are can make a big difference when they need your help. At a glance, you can see where everyone is and tapping on a user allows you to jump to their location. If you long press on a user, you have the option to use turn by turn navigation to get to them quickly.

Users are able to not only see each other but also see geofences. If a user enters a danger zone they get notified and instructed to exit the zone. The user will be able to see the boundaries of this zone to make sure they take the shortest route out of the zone. This increased level of situational awareness leads to a higher level of safety but also increased productivity as workers can easily call in support from nearby co-workers.

Messaging

In the mobile workspace, text messaging should be the least urgent method to transmit information. It’s too distracting and takes too much time to answer often requiring to take off Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). However, messaging can still be an important component to communicate with a worker for non-urgent messages as long as the worker knows that this alert for a text message means he or she doesn’t have to answer immediately.
