Hotels & Hospitality Lone Worker Monitoring

How Hotel Workers Can Use OnGuard For Personal Safety

Hotel workers are constantly at risk of being caught in potentially dangerous situations by hotel guests.

There are countless stories of innocent hotel workers being physically or sexually assaulted in the workplace by guests and other workers. All too often, these “simple misunderstandings” get swept under the carpet in order to “avoid embarrassment” or “tarnish the hotel’s reputation.” Hotel workers in many provinces and states are taking measures to make this kind of abuse stop.

For lone worker protection, a lone worker panic alarm system provides immediate notification of an emergency. Workers carry an emergency Panic Button that is connected to the OnGuard Lone Worker system. Pushing the Panic Button provides precise indoor location as well as instant emergency communication. An emergency channel, with a 5-10 second “Open Mic”, allows the Emergency Response Centre to hear what is going on with the alerting worker. The OnGuard system also provides real time location updates if the worker is being pursued by an assailant or is dragged into another room. Responding workers or emergency services will know exactly where the worker is located, even without GPS accessibility.

Another benefit of the OnGuard system is that it will also alert other workers to the emergency and they can also see the location of the alerting worker and quickly come to their aid.
