Construction Lone Worker Safety

How Construction Workers Can Use OnGuard For Personal Safety

In the construction industry, accidents are a common occurrence, from cuts and bruises to more serious injuries, workers have become used to the fact that someone on a job site will get hurt.

Not a day goes by when a new and often tragic story hits the headlines that tells a tale of sorrow and loss where a construction worker is injured or killed in an industrial accident due to a safety oversight, not following protocol or is unprepared for their work conditions.

If these workers were using the OnGuard Lone Worker system, the outcome could have been much better. With our lone worker monitoring, from Man Down fall detection to the Hazardous Location timed interval check in feature, the OnGuard system is there to provide the tools and effective oversight to ensure the worker comes home safe, every day. Our lone worker safety solutions include the HazLoc or Hazardous Location Mode, which prompts the worker to check-in on a timed interval, creating a “Proof of Life” check-in that defines that the worker is OK and continuing to work.

Integration with PTT or Push To Talk, provides the worker further protection by having an instant communications link that turns the cellular device into a high-performance walkie talkie. When a panic or fall has been detected, the ePTT emergency channel is automatically opened and communication can be initiated to determine the condition of the worker.
